Before Max I was the ultimate purse and accessories kinda gal. Bags just drew me in, I wanted them all. How in the world was I going to trade in my Louis Neverfull for some crabby nylon diaper bag?! Thank goodness for the internet and the amazing women that saw the same issue I did and came up with a solution! I have two (technically three-keep reading) solutions for the dreaded ugly diaper bag and I hope they can help out the next sylin' mama to!
My bag of choice is the 'Boss Bag' from Bella Tunno! Now, I love Bella Tunno for a list of reasons and don't worry I am going to tell you all of them!
- Bella Tunno is based out of my hometown, Charlotte, NC.
- The have a great sense of humor, just read their description of the Boss Bag ... "You're the CEO of the castle, president of the playground and director of diapers. You float between your baby, your family, your friend and your responsibilities with ease...now you have a bag that does too. It can go wherever you go and make you look good when you get there. BE THE BOSS. Carry the bag. You got this."
- For every product sold they connect one American with a meal through their B1G Initiative! They have already donated close to 900,000 meals!
- They create stylish and practical products that every mama needs (not just diaper bags)!
Now back to the 'Boss Bag'! This bag has everything I was looking for in a diaper bag; its fashionable (people that aren't moms ask me where to buy it), it's practical (it's huge and has what feels like a million compartments), it's versatile (it can act as 3 completely different bags), and it's made with vegan leather and comes in two great colors (grey and cognac)!
The 'Boss Bag' includes:
They are currently sold out on bellatunno.com but they are also sold at Bed Bath and Beyond as well as Buy Buy Baby!
My other go-to bag is my Fawn design backpack. One thing I quickly learned with a new baby is as a mom you need at least three arms at all times buttt we all know that's not possible - a diaper bag makes things a heck of a lot easier! The Fawn Design backpack also has one long additional strap to turn it into a tote or to hang from your stroller, grocery cart, or Target cart! When choosing my color I honestly couldn't pick and ended up having to randomly choose! My top choice in color was their blush but my mom cut that option real quick. But now that I look back at that - I say screw it! You are the one carrying the bag, YOU should get to choose your bag! Here's a Fawn lover tip - invest in a Tote Savvy Mini to sit in your backpack for extra organization!
My second solution to avoiding the drab, nylon bags is by buying a ToteSavvy (or two). ToteSavvy is an insert that can turn any bag into a diaper bag, can we say still using my LV Neverfull?! They have two sizes the; ToteSavvy- made for totes and larger bags, and the ToteSavvy mini- made for smaller bags. They also have a great selection of accessories, my personal fave being the bottle bag! Like Bella Tunno, they are another charitable company which is a huge reason I love to support them! For every ToteSavvy sold they donate $3 to METAvivor in an effort to find better treatments for Metastatic Breast Cancer. You can find ToteSavvy here: lifeinplaycompany.com , Buy Buy Baby, Nordstrom, Toys R Us, and Bed Bath and Beyond.
